Learn To Quilt

Join us for this introductory class for true beginning quilters.  Learn basic techniques in strip cutting, sewing an accurate 1/4 inch seam, pressing, in addition to creating three different quilt blocks:  the rail fence, nine-patch and snowball.  In  our final class, we'll put together your quilt "sandwich" with pin basting and do a "hands on" demo for binding your quilt.  Select a beautiful "border" fabrics and 5 coordinating fabrics to create this cute lap size quilt  Loaner machines are available that include 1/4" foot, Walking Foot, and BSR foot (Bernina Stitch Regulator) Previous sewing experience helpful.

Five  2 1/2  hour sessions (with homework!):  $100
Supplies: 
Start Quilting with Alex Anderson book 
Fabrics for quilt - FABRIC WILL BE SELECTED THE FIRST NIGHT!
Machine in good working order with guide book,1/4" foot and walking foot
45 mm Rotary Cutter, cutting mat and ruler, 6x24 and 6x12 rulers recommended
General sewing supplies: scissors, pins, seam ripper and safety pins (1-inch pins about 100-200)
Regular sewing thread for in neutral color for piecing
