Beginning Quilting
- Nine Patch
A quilting class designed for true beginner quilters. We will walk you through
the process of selecting your fabric for the quilt. You will learn the basics of
rotary cutting, assembling a basic 9-patch with strip piecing,
and finishing your quilt top with double borders. The
last class will take your quilt top to a finished quilt. We'll discuss batting
choices, making a quilt "sandwich", pin basting, quilting and binding. Loaner machines are available that include 1/4" foot, Walking Foot, and BSR
foot (Bernina Stitch Regulator)

Supplies:
Fabrics
for quilt - FABRIC WILL BE SELECTED THE
FIRST NIGHT!
Machine in good working order with guide book,1/4" foot and walking foot
45 mm Rotary Cutter, cutting mat and ruler, 6x24 and 6x12 rulers recommended
General sewing supplies: scissors, pins, seam ripper and safety pins (1-inch
pins about 100-200)
Regular sewing thread for in neutral color for piecing
